I'm not an od user myself, but I copy & pasted an 'od' invocation from a bug
and it didn't work. Which was embarrassing because I'd just claimed that the
od user didn't need to run od on their desktop (as they had done) and could
have run it on the device instead...

Factor out single output type into od_out_t(), call it in a loop for each type
finding largest output (and if output consumes more than one byte of input
average rounding up), pad each output to the largest output times number of
bytes input consumed.

Also fix up help text, and hook up -c.

right in years (ubuntu broke its' vim implementation). Remove trailing spaces. Add/remove blank lines. Re-wordwrap in places. Update documentation with new coding style.
The actual code should be the same afterward, this is just cosmetic refactoring.

FOR_commandname before #including toys.h to trigger it. Rename DEFINE_GLOBALS() to just GLOBALS() (because I could never remember if it was DECLARE_GLOBALS). Convert existing commands to use new infrastructure, and replace optflag constants with FLAG_ macros where appropriate.
